WHY DO YOU NEED TO THROW A BENEFIT?
1.) The Trans Literacy Project is FREE and available to anyone who wants to watch. We believe it is important to make our work accessible to others, but it still costs money to rent the space to film, pay the artists involved, edit the material, and promote the work.

2.) We are developing our new devised show, ReconFIGUREd with our ensemble of 25 women and trans people. The large cast and devising process allows us to create meaningful material that speaks to a wide variety of perspectives. However, this process takes a long time (which increases our rehearsal space costs) and requires a large production team to ensure our work is high quality. Finally, we prioritize paying our artists and designers because all too often their work is undervalued and unpaid.

HOW WILL THE MONEY RAISED BE SPENT?
All of the money raised at this event will go to Honest Accomplice programming. The two main areas include:

1.) Promotion and production of The Trans Literacy Project, including finding ways to get this important material to schools, HR departments and more.

2.) Supporting production and performance costs (designers, actors, production team, props/sets/costumes) for our upcoming show, ReconFIGUREd.

If you would like to know more info about our spending, costs or how to donate, please feel free to reach out and we’d be happy to chat.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE EVENT?
Whatever makes you comfortable! We know that’s a vague answer. This is not an extremely formal event; you are welcome to wear a tux or ballgown but you might be the only one. Similarly, you might be the only one in sweatpants should you go that route…so maybe something in between, but we’ll accept anything!

IS THIS SPACE ADA ACCESSIBLE?
Yes! Feel free to let us know if you need any particular accommodations.
